Miley Cyrus - Idol Gives Back

American Idol was already a cultural phenomenon, but Idol Gives Back transformed the show’s enormous reach into something even more meaningful: a star-studded night of entertainment created to help millions of people in need.

Bigger and more ambitious than ever, the special brought together an extraordinary lineup of stars, including Brad Pitt, Robin Williams, Celine Dion, Forest Whitaker, Fergie, Mariah Carey, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Bono, Reese Witherspoon and many more. Broadcast from the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, the event ultimately raised more than $60 million for charitable causes in the United States and around the world.

One of the night’s most anticipated appearances came from Miley Cyrus, then best known to millions as the star of Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana. Miley performed a two-song set for the special and even joined comedian Billy Crystal for a memorable comedy sketch.

For her energetic performance of “Good and Broken,” Miley paired a black star-print top and jacket with Alex Woo Little Notes and Little Princess jewelry, adding a little sparkle to a performance seen by millions.

Beyond the music and celebrity appearances, Miley captured the spirit of the evening with a simple reminder:

“You don't have to travel all around the world to make a difference. You can do something in your own town, your own backyard.”
