Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2009

Sports Illustrated 2009

For the fourth consecutive year — and fifth time overall — Alex Woo jewelry shines in the iconic Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. This year’s coveted issue features 23-year-old Israeli model Bar Refaeli on the cover, alongside 19 models photographed across five breathtaking locations. With over 100,000 images captured, several standout talents — including Jarah Mariano, Anne V, Julie Henderson, Damaris Lewis, and tennis star Maria Kirilenko — were styled in signature Alex Woo pieces.

Jarah Mariano
An American model of Hawaiian, Korean, and Chinese descent, Jarah was born in Lihue, Kauai and later raised in California. Discovered at age 15 in Santa Monica, she eventually moved to New York City to continue her modeling career while earning her degree in Speech Communications from Pace University. In both her photos and interview, she wears Alex Woo’s Little Luck Wishbone — a modern talisman of hope and good fortune.

Anne Vyalitsyna (“Anne V”)
Born in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, Anne V began her modeling career at 15 after being discovered by IMG scouts during MTV’s Fashionably Loud Europe search in Saint Petersburg. In the issue, she is photographed wearing Alex Woo’s Siri Necklace, a sleek and sculptural statement.

Damaris Lewis
A Brooklyn native born in 1991, Damaris is the rising star — the “rookie” — of this year’s lineup, echoing Julie Henderson’s breakout moment in 2007. Her fresh presence embodies the youthful energy of the Swimsuit Edition and shines alongside Alex Woo jewelry.
