Lucky magazine did it again with NYC’s ultimate fashion experience! This was Lucky Shops 8^th year of amazing deals and great shopping. With celebs like Bridget Moynahan, Stephanie March, Kaylee Defer from Gossip Girl and Abigail Breslin – it was sure to be a fabulous weekend of shopping and fun.

Everyone looked great, especially Abigail Breslin who was rockin’ the Little Rock Star Double Note 2! Alex was able to catch up with her, since the last time they saw each other at Super Saturday 14, as they both smiled for the cameras on the red carpet. The event lasted three days and saw 7,000 people total from 40 different states! I think it’s safe to say that everyone shopped til’ they dropped at the 8^th annual Lucky Shops.

Alex Woo is once again excited to be participating in LuckyShops!  For the seventh straight year, Lucky Magazine is turning NYC’s Metropolitan Pavilion into a shopping paradise and bringing the pages of the magazine to life with a unique mix of merchandise from designers such as Alice + Olivia, Botkier, Diane von Furstenberg, and many more.  Lucky Shops 2010 will also include cool extras like music, refreshments and giveaways and kick off with a “VIP Shopping Party” hosted by Hilary Duff to celebrate Lucky’s 10th Anniversary and the mag’s new Editor-In-Chief Brandon Holley.  The last time Alex Woo participated can be read about here.

At the ultimate shopping event featuring Lucky’s favorite designers and shops, host and Gossip Girl Leighton Meester with fellow co-star hottie Jessica Szohr stopped by to chat with Alex Woo and check out her latest collections (see photo left). Leighton, described by Lucky as “TV’s best-dressed new star” wore a cute one-shoulder black and magenta ruffled floral print dress by Marc Jacobs along with a pair of black Roman gladiator-style heels. Jessica sported a stylish black v-neck top teamed with a pair of black loose-fitting trousers and matching black shoes. Alex Woo added that “in person Leighton looks even more beautiful and radiant than she does on TV!”

Last year, over 10,000 shoppers (from 35 different states!) flocked to NYC to attend. All event proceeds go to the Robin Hood charity to support innovative poverty-fighting organizations.

As Lucky says, she is TV’s best-dressed new star and portrays a supremely put-together Upper East Side private-school girl on the TV hit Gossip Girl. In real life, however, the Florida native plays it more casual. “On a typical day, you’ll find me in a tank top, jeans, and flats,” says the 22-year-old. “Even when I’m getting dressed up — which is a lot these days — I make sure what I’ve got on is pretty and comfortable. That’s key.”

Some of the key fashions she loves are romantic dresses, perfume that can be worn every day and Alex Woo’s little letter necklace. Leigton says “I wear this lowercase L by Alex Woo on a long chain so it’s sort of hidden and I never have to take it off.” So whether it is on and off the small screen (her character Blair Waldorf also wears Alex Woo’s little letters B and W) Leighton Meester is quickly moving to the next level of stardom and her style is undeniable,

In a evening at its easiest feature, Lucky says “dressing up in the heat can – and should – be effortless” and then shows off five fancy, pretty throw them on looks they love. Featured are Alex Woo’s Sienna stick earrings with “Monte Carlo” slingbacks and nice clutch. “As unfussy as a daytime top and skirt, the lush materials create a nightime mood.”

Four Girls, One… Silk Vest

When it comes to getting dressed, marketing manager Katie Alexander’s goal is to create the right ratio of masculine to feminine pieces. “I don’t mind anything that’s fussy or prissy, but I don’t want all of my clothes to look too hard,” explains the 27 year-old. “The combination of a cinched-in vest, blazer with big buttons, and snakeskin purse is very ’40s womanly, but the sturdy olive-colored pants and big leather boots are rugged. It’s cool in a risk-taking, Amelia Earhart sort of way.” Topped off with Alex Woo’s Chiara pendant, it makes a strong statement, but still seems low-key.

Former American Idol contestant and successful singer Katharine McPhee graces the cover of the June issue of Lucky magazine.

In the Lucky Summer Jewelry Guide, Alex Woo’s Narissa collection is highlighted. From the Narissa crescent necklace to the Narissa cuff, Lucky states “There’s so much detail in these airy gold pieces – each feels like a little work of art.” Additionally, the Narissa cuff is described as “an alluring, oversize cuff with a ravishing, goddessy vibe.
