Between the leaves turning warm shades of red and as the cool fall air creeps in and the telltale orange and black of the spookiest day of the year, October is all about transformation through color. This month, you’ll notice the color of choice is pink as our website is transformed for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we’ve got all bases covered in supporting the important cause, from the delicate pink ribbon ring to our specially designed T-shirts.
Who cares? Woo cares! Every year when October rolls around, the pink ribbons appear and the city is abuzz with breast cancer awareness, from charity functions to the famous annual walk in Central Park. In an effort to raise awareness as well as support the important cause, Alex Woo brings visibility to the issue with the creation of two significant designs that donate all proceeds to women’s cancer research.

Shiny and delicate, the Little Pink Heart Necklace is a statement of strength and love for those who have survived or are battling cancer. Meanwhile, for the past three years the Pink Ribbon Ring has been an elegant way to wear awareness of the important cause. The rose gold ring commemorates the memory of Alex Woo’s mother who died of breast cancer and encourages everyone, both men and women, to join the fight against breast cancer.
But Breast Cancer awareness is only the tip of the iceberg. With Woo Cares, Alex Woo partners up with some of fashion and entertainment’s heavy hitters to raise money for significant causes that benefit the community. From the star-studded Hollywood Yard Sale to support Clothes Off our Backs to VH1’s Save the Music foundation, Woo Cares takes awareness to the next level.
Rubbing elbows with Donna Karan and Kelly Ripa to benefit the OCRF at Super Saturday might be a welcome perk, but when it comes down to it, Woo Cares is about the designer’s passion for using her designs to bring beauty to the lives of others. This month we encourage you to join our efforts and spread awareness about the important causes that affect our lives and the lives of those we love.
Live, love, and be involved. |
