Alex Woo has been designing jewelry for over five years to much acclaim and success. With her father, a master bench jeweler, serving as her mentor, Alex has grown up learning an appreciation for gems, precious metals and fine craftsmanship.
From studying fine arts and jewelry design at Cornell University, The American University of Paris and Parsons School of Design, to winning the National Women’s Jewelry Association’s design competition in 1998, art and form has always been her passion. She has been awarded by a panel of experts from the JCK Show Design Center as one of the Rising Stars for 2006 - one of the most prestigious and coveted accolades in the industry.
Born and raised in New York City, with her midtown Manhattan showroom and work space, Alex embodies the spirit and passion of a true New Yorker. She draws inspiration from her travels around the world and admits her most creative moments are found in new locations she visits.
Alex Woo delicately balances the trendy “must have” and the classic into sleek and stylish designs that evoke the bold strength of today’s women, while keeping intact their natural femininity. She designs real jewelry for real women, challenging herself to find unique and intriguing ways to accessorize, and with each piece handcrafted and signed by the designer, the quality is unsurpassed. As a direct result, Alex Woo has attracted an established client list of fashion editors, stylists, trendsetters and celebrities, and was named to Crain’s Business’s “40 Under 40” list of rising stars and successful people in New York.
Alex Woo jewelry is sold at Henri Bendel, Neiman Marcus Catalog, select Bloomingdales stores, and fine boutiques nationwide.
