Life & Style – Eva’s #9 Obsession

Eva Longoria Life&Style March 2006In the Celebrity section of Life & Style this week, Eva’s No. 9 obsession is revealed. After starting her No. 9 obsession with Alex Woo’s Little Numbers pendant, she started to pick up everything with her boyfriend Tony Parker’s number on it.

“Let’s hope Eva Longoria’s beau, San Antonion Spurs star Tony Parker, doesn’t get traded to another team and have to give up his number — Eva has already plastered his No. 9 on everything from her jeans to her Sidekick and her jewels. Could a trip to the tatoo parlor be next?”

Previously in Life & Style, Eva’s No, 9 necklace was also shown with Tony’s gold 2005 NBA championship ring…

The number game: 5 is the number of outfits I tried on before deciding what to wear for a date; 3 is the number of poppy seeds stuck between my teeth during the date; 4 is the number of hours my date waited to tell me about the poppy seeds. Well, I’m hoping to improve my game with some meaningful numbers from Alex Woo’s adorable Little Numbers collection. Celebrities like Eva Longoria have been spotted wearing a gold “9” for the jersey number of her boyfriend Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs. Julia Roberts wears a “2” for her twins. South Riding, Va. Caller:
What is an appropriate Valentine for my wife of eight years and pregnant with our second child?

Janelle Erlichman: A big gold medal? Or how about a cool necklace from Alex Woo. She has this great Little Numbers Collection …. where you can pick any sort of number combination. Like “2″ for two kids … or “8″ for the # of years you’re married. or “4″ for the number in your family. That sort of stuff. Check out alexwoo.com.

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2006

Sports Illustrated 2006With an All-Star Model cover featuring Veronica Varekova, Elle Macpherson, Rebecca Romijn, Rachel Hunter, Daniela Pestova, Elsa Benitez, Carolyn Murphy, and Yamila Diaz-Rahi – you know the issue is going to be a keeper. With 250 pages featuring 25 of the world’s most beautiful supermodels including tennis superstar Maria Sharapova, it really is mmm… for the three M’s who wear Alex Woo jewelry of course!

Molly Sims: Famous for being one of the hottest runway models, her photos have glistened in Victoria’s Secret, SI swimsuit issues and countless advertising campaigns for a long time. Known for being both intelligent as well as beautiful, she hosted MTV’s House of Style and in 2003, she joined the cast of NBC’s fast-paced and sexy drama Las Vegas in the role of Delinda Deline. Having also been in “Maxim’s Hot 100,” and finished a role in an indie called “Venus and Vegas,” it is only appropriate that she proudly wears Alex Woo’s Vegas Collection in Sin City for her photoshoots. Wearing both a “lucky 7″ from the Little Numbers Collection and a “spade” in many of the photos, what can anyone say but we’re happy she switched from being a lawyer to pursue a modeling career.

Marisa Miller: With a face that has graced the cover of magazines like Vogue, Fitness and Shape, it’s no wonder SI called her back for the 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006 Swimsuit Editions. Born New Years Day in 1980 in the coastal city of Santa Cruz, California, she still says “The first thing I do every morning is go online to check the surf. If the waves are good, I’ll go surf. The beach is 10 minutes away.” In many of the photos, she is seen wearing Alex Woo’s Little Season’s Daisy Pendant.

Mallory Snyder: First spotted in MTV’s Real World in Paris 2003, this 5’11″ soccer athlete was born Jan. 7, 1984 and silenced all the dissenters with multiple appearences in Sports Illustrated and a clear sense of ambition. In several of the photos from her winter shoot in Huahine, Tahiti, she is wearing Alex Woo’s Daisy Pendant.

Best Damn Sports Show Period – Holiday Gift Guide

Best Damn Sports Show December 2005In July 2001, Fox Sports decided to introduce a sports show like no other. Not only would it cover all important sports news and scores, but it would also feature some of the funniest comedians, and most of them are ex-players. Some of them are John Kruk, John Salley, and Michael Irvin. Topped off with comedians Tom Arnold and Chris Rose, Playboy Playmate of the month for 1998 Lisa Dergan, and Lisa Guerrero, the show is one of the most fun to watch when it comes to sports.

In a special holiday segment, Best Damn Sports Show’s gift guru Bobbie Thomas stopped by the show to help the fellas out there how to come up with the perfect gift for her. In the segment, she talked excitedly about Alex Woo’s Little Number Collection and highlighted how there is no secret that men want a Plasma TV, but women, in contrast, seldom just come out and ask for what they want.

With the appeal of personalization and a desire for individuality, Alex Woo’s “little numbers” allows women to style their wardrobe in their own “little” way. Using any combination of numbers, and a choice between silver, yellow gold and even diamonds, the look is fresh and modern … and fun!

Pros that bought Alex Woo:

Eva Longoria: wears a gold “9″ in support of her boyfriend, Tony Parker, and his San Antonio Spurs’ jersey number.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck: has a gold “4″ in support of her husband, Tim Hasselbeck, and his Washington Redskins’ jersey number.

New York Jets Curtis Martin’s mom: wears “28″ to show her love and support of her son’s jersey number.

Baltimore Raven Ray Lewis’s mom: wears “52″ to show her love and support of her son’s jersey number.

Who December 2005Eva’s numbers game
Jewelry with a hidden meaning

Does Eva Longoria wear her trendy No. 9 necklace to keep the fashion police away, or does it hold a sentimental attachment? When asked in Melbourne on Derby Day about her NBA boyfriend, Tony Parker — the San Antonio Spurs No. 9 player — the Desperate Housewives star said, “I have him here with me on my heart, on my necklace, so he’s not too far.” And it’s not only her TV character, Gabrielle Solis, who has a taste for younger men: Eva, 30, calls the 23-year-old basketballer her “boy toy.”

Rapaport – Trendwrap

Rapaport December 2005Throughout history, pendants have been worn as a symbol of power, an emblem of faith or as an amulet; diamonds were often an integral part of that meanigful message.  Today’s pendants combine all of those elements to create a stylish expression of self.  Diamond pendants sparkle beautifully when worn alone and also layer perfectly with longer chains, adding another element of texture to a look.

Saturday Night Live (SNL) – Eva Longoria

SNL 2005On November 19th, “Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria hosted NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” with musical guest Korn. In a total of nine segments (coincidence?) she made a strong comedic debut on what is the longest-running entertainment comedy show in America. As a mohican-haired dance music star “Ms. Drama Martinez” in Keenan’s “MTV4 Deep House Dish,” she turned a simple sketch into some big laughs. Perhaps the most memorable sketch however was when she poked fun at the infamous Vanity Fair Desperate Housewives cover shoot spat by playing a scene-stealing Teri Hatcher.

Named one of “People’s 50 Most Beautiful People” and the Hottest Woman in the World on Maxim’s 2005 annual “Hot 100 List” Eva Longoria will soon be seen in the feature films “Harsh Times” with Christian Bale and “The Sentinel” with Michael Douglas. In this Saturday Night Live photo, Eva Longoria is wearing Alex Woo’s No. 9 necklace from the Little Numbers Collection that started her No. 9 craze for boyfriend San Antonio Spurs’ Tony Parker.

Las Vegas Weekly – THE CONSUMER: Luck Be A Lady

Las Vegas Weekly October 2005Alex Woo immortalizes Vegas with diamonds and gold
By Jennifer Henry

Luck is the four-letter word here. Just like Andrew Dice Clay’s favorite expletive, it too has its ups and downs. Good luck led a lost Rafael Rivera to an undiscovered oasis on the meadows of the Las Vegas Valley back in 1829. Bad luck exposed the unflattering late-night snapshots of your favorite celebutante’s drunken, quickie nuptials and post-party annulment.

We’re built on that unpredictable foundation and though everyone knows the house always wins in the end, adventure can be found in the thrill of risk and the possibility of reward for your wager. Lately, it seems everyone is trying their luck here. Vegas themes abound in every genre, film and TV have made the most of our colorful setting, the music industry has found its new Sodom and Gomorrah, and even high fashion is hot on Sin City references.

Alex Woo, it-girl jeweler for the fashion-forward, placed her bets on Vegasmania with her newest collection of super-sleek and chic charms. Her Vegas collection uses playing-card suits, crafted in her signature style: simple, subtle and enticing.

Vegas features clubs, diamonds, hearts and spades in silver, yellow gold, and best of all, white gold with diamonds. According to Woo, she crafts her designs to include “that exciting spark of what’s hot” without sacrificing the timeless quality that has brought her brand acclaim. The 30-year-old designer bet her handcrafted charms would embody the spirit of Las Vegas. A native New Yorker and a world traveler, she says of our dazzling city: “I thought that it captured the excitement of Times Square, but was just so much glitzier.”

Her collection of mini-pendants has already proved promising, catching the eye of trendsetting starlets such as Drew Barrymore, who layers Woo’s spade pendant with a “7″ in diamonds from her famed Little Numbers collection.

Dedicated to promoting personalized accessories, Woo delights in the intimate connection her collectors have with each piece. She cites the “great inspiration” she derives from knowing that she has “touched their lives in some small way” and hopes that “these lucky charms can make someone’s life a little better, a little happier, and even a little luckier.”

Ice Accessories, in Caesars Forum Shops, will be the first to offer Vegas in Las Vegas. As for lucky charms, I’ll take mine in diamonds.
