The Carrie Diaries: AnnaSophia Robb Wears Her Carrie Necklace Off-Set, TooAnnaSophia Robb is so Carrie Bradshaw, she’s even taken to wearing the fashionista’s iconic necklace off-set! We spotted The Carrie Diaries star on the red carpet in a small, golden “A” necklace by Alex Woo—a match to the “C” necklace she wears as teenage Carrie on the show ($678). Freida Pinto knows how to work “statement” jewelry! The actress stopped by Nylon’s 13th anniversary party this week, where she accessorized her Prada shift with a delicate gold chimpanzee pendant by Alex Woo, the sales of which benefit the Jane Goodall Institute. “It’s the kind of necklace that doesn’t need to be worn with anything special,” Pinto said of the piece, which Woo designed in honor of Disney’s Chimpanzee movie, out April 20th. “When you’re wearing something to support a good cause, the rest doesn’t matter. Prada just helps it.” Shop the necklace in eco-friendly recycled sterling silver and 14-karat gold.

Brides everywhere fell for Amanda Seyfried as Sophie in the film Mamma Mia! With her ethereal gown and, of course, that hair she and Meryl Streep lead an all-star cast in the feature-film adaptation of the beloved musical that has been seen by more than 30 million people in 170 cities and 8 languages around the world. With her notable roles in film and television, Amanda Seyfried has quickly captured the attention of audiences and established herself as a breakout star. Next month on February 5th, she will star in Dear John, a new film based on the novel from Nicholas Sparks, best-selling author of The Notebook. Recently, she was also in the film Jennifer’s Body written by Diablo Cody (Juno) but won critical praise for her starring role in HBO’s Golden Globe Award-nominated drama Big Love.
The Pennsylvania native started her career with modeling at the age of 11. Seyfried soon turned to acting and landed her first role in the soaps with As the World Turns and then in All My Children. However, her breakout role was in the Alex Woo favorite Mean Girls, the Lorne Michaels-Tina Fey hit in which she co-starred with Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams. They won the Best On-Screen Team Award at the MTV Movie Awards the year it launched in 2004.

Style File: How to Wear… Stripes
Hot off a Golden Globe Best Actress nomination for her role in the glossy, glistening and energizing adaptation of the 1981 Broadway musical, Beyoncé Knowles is getting rave reviews and we can’t wait to see her on the red carpet.
In the January issue, the singer/actress admits she lost her cool when she found herself in the same spot as Miss Diana Ross (the rumored inspiration for her lead singer character). “I was terrified,” the star said. “Then she tapped me on the shoulder and told me that she was glad that I was doing Dreamgirls.”
In the “style file” section, the discussion is about “How to Wear Stripes” and 30s/40s Classic with a Twist. Alex Woo’s Sienna Bangles are shown as part of the trend watch.
InStyle’s June cover girl, supermodel and reality television host Heidi Klum, provides readers sizzling style tips and an exclusive glimpse of her hideaway home in Careyes, Mexico. Dancing on a private beach, goofing off with the crew, all while looking great in gorgeous pictures, the now 33-year-old sexy celebrity (born June 1973 in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany) reveals how she can do it all – “Seal and I think differently. I can do 20 things at once – e-mail, watch the kids, figure out what to wear to an event – and he’ll be like, ‘What am I wearing?’ I’m very good at multitasking. He puts one foot in front of the other.”
In the “Little Indulgences” jewelry section, Alex Woo’s 14kt-gold-vermeil Sienna stick earrings look stunning and is listed as one of the “savvy splurges for under $500.”
InStyle’s first issue for 2006 celebrates actress Jennifer Aniston fresh start and why this golden girl is feeling stronger and sexier than ever. With a parade of sexy beach photos taken in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Jennifer reveals she doesn’t make New Year’s Resolutions, as “I try not to say anything that I can’t back up because we all take steps backward.” Still, she does have a few things she’d like to do in 2006 including about buying a house, hitting the books, going to Greece and even settling down and having a family.
In the “Cheap Chic” jewelry section, Alex Woo’s 14kt-gold vermeil necklace with carnelian (Chiara Pendant) gracefully adorns the page. As one of the “frugal finds for $100 and under” it is definitely a steal.
Also featured in InStyle’s “Cheap Chic” jewelry section in May 2005 was Alex Woo’s Cindy Necklace.
Fashion icon Sarah Jessica Parker in the October issue of InStyle, reveals in an exclusive interview how she’s missing the Sex girls. “When the show wrapped they thought they’d be together again in a film version that wasn’t to be. ‘The goodbyes were painful, but we thought we’d be doing the film. If I’d known that was the real goodbye, they would have had to take me to a hospital.’”
In the “Little Indulgences” jewelry section, Alex Woo’s sterling-silver drop earrings with amethyst positively bring sparkle to the page. As one of the “savvy splurges for under $500″ it is truly a great gift for yourself or for your loved ones.
Teri Hatcher is ‘Desperate’ and loving it in this summer edition of InStyle. With the hottest show on TV and a certain new golden accessory on her trophy shelf, we should all be so desperate. As she states in the feature story, “My parents taught me there was no space to feel good about myself without being hurtful to someone else. I’m trying to find the place to let myself deserve something for a while. Like the Golden Globe: I know that winning doesn’t mean I’m ‘better’ than the other nominees. But I also don’t have to go, ‘I didn’t deserve it.’ . . .”
Speaking of deserving, Alice Rose Hurley asks InStyle readers – “Want to bring a little sparkle to the season’s new styles? Our choices (all with affordable price tags of $250 or less) offer something for everyone” in the Cheap Chic Real Deals article. Featured in the Prep School section, Alex Woo’s Cindy Necklace may remind you of a “summer in Nantucket.”
