Lucky Shops 2011

Lucky magazine did it again with NYC’s ultimate fashion experience! This was Lucky Shops 8th year of amazing deals and great shopping. With celebs like Bridget Moynahan, Stephanie March, Kaylee Defer from Gossip Girl and Abigail Breslin – it was sure to be a fabulous weekend of shopping and fun.

Everyone looked great, especially Abigail Breslin who was rockin’ the Little Rock Star Double Note 2! Alex was able to catch up with her, since the last time they saw each other at Super Saturday 14, as they both smiled for the cameras on the red carpet. The event lasted three days and saw 7,000 people total from 40 different states! I think it’s safe to say that everyone shopped til’ they dropped at the 8th annual Lucky Shops.

In the episode, she is wearing again Alex Woo’s Little Princess Diamond Bow.

Gossip Girl – War at the Roses

Blair’s 20th birthday was the big event in episode 7 of season four of Gossip Girl.  Called “War at the Roses” Blair and Chuck call a truce, even having a notarized treaty being drawn up.  In the opening scene, Blair (Leighton Meester) is seen wearing Alex Woo’s Little Signs Scorpion.

Having had enough of Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair’s games, Serena (Blake Lively) and Nate (Chace Crawford) decide to plan an intervention. Musical guest Robyn performs in the episode. Penn Badgley, Taylor Momsen, Jessica Szohr, Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle also star.

The Hurt Locket – Blair Debuts Fleur de Lis!

National Jeweler – Celebrity Style Jewelry

Will Gossip Girl fuel a must-have necklace craze?

New York–After a mid-season break, the hit CW show Gossip Girl returns with an all-new episode on Monday, March 8, and jewelry will be getting a primetime spotlight.

Character Blair Waldorf will be back and sporting a signature jewelry piece that one designer is hoping will be the new horseshoe necklace (the trend fueled by character Carrie Bradshaw’s go-to bauble on Sex and the City).

In earlier seasons, Blair donned Alex Woo’s “Little Letters” diamond necklace featuring her initials, but her new signature will be the designer’s diamond “Fleur de Lis” necklace from the “Little Faith” collection, a symbol of purity and light befitting of Blair’s ideals and how she would like the world to see her (fans of the show familiar with the character’s cunning ways know otherwise).

In addition to the necklace’s time on air, the network is said to be launching a secret Gossip Girl promotion around it, making for some extra high-profile exposure.

Available in 14-karat white gold and encrusted with pave diamonds, the pendant features Alex Woo’s signature shiny beveled edges and the designer’s signature. The necklace retails for $728, but many of the designer’s pieces are also available in sterling silver at prices that are a little more high school friendly, with metal-only pendant necklaces retailing for $148 a piece.

A Gossip Girl veteran, Alex Woo has worked with the show’s costume department since the series’ first season, helping to incorporate jewelry that adds a personal, sometimes humorous, touch to each character.

The sidekicks of the show’s newest “Queen Bee,” Jenny Humphrey, each wear an Alex Woo “Little Number” necklace, symbolizing the girls’ social ranking with the numbers “1,” “2″ and “3.”

As for Jenny herself, whose persona is bold and rebellious, the costume department has often accessorized her with Woo’s “Little Vegas” spade necklace in yellow gold, from a collection of designs inspired by “Sin City chic.” The piece has often been layered with edgy, modern pieces, helping to add to Jenny’s fashion-forward character.

“I love that Gossip Girl uses my jewelry to help tell the stories of each of the characters,” Woo said in a media release. “It’s exactly the reason why I designed the collections–whether it’s a favorite number, or a lucky elephant, each icon represents something special and meaningful to the wearer.  It’s all about telling your own story and making it personal.”

InStyle – Where Can I Find Julia Roberts’s and Leighton Meester’s onscreen jewelry?

You want it. We found it section.

“My life has been focused on telling a good story — hopefully a good one” – Taylor Swift

We love N.Y.C. designer Alex Woo’s pieces, and so do the stars.  Roberts wore Lucia earrings in sterling silver with a tailored blazer.  Also in 14kt yellow, white, and rose gold.

Meester’s delicate 14kt white gold and diamond Little Big Vegas Spade necklace complemented her feminine top.  Other pendants: a sterling silver spade and 14kt gold club.

Gossip Girl – How to Succeed in Bassness

Gossip Girl - How to Succeed in BassnessAnother solid night of drama from Gossip Girl.  In need of publicity for his new hotel, Chuck (Ed Westwick) decides to move up his club’s opening and enlists Serena’s (Blake Lively) help to get the word out to her celebrity clients. Feeling left out of the planning, Blair (Leighton Meester) attempts to win Chuck’s approval by secretly helping him with a problem concerning opening night. Dan (Penn Badgley) is unnerved when he finally watches one of Olivia’s (guest star Hilary Huff) infamous sex scenes with co-star and real-life boyfriend at the time, Patrick Robinson (guest star Simon Miller).  Jenny (Taylor Momsen) is forced to choose between her relationship with Eric (Connor Paolo) and her new role as Queen Bee.  Throughout the episode, she wears Alex Woo’s Little Luck Elephant in Gold.

Gossip Girl – Dan de Fleurette

Gossip Girl - Season 3 - Dan de FleuretteWhat a great episode tonight of Gossip Girl.  With guest stars from singer and actress Hilary Duff joining to start some drama on the Upper East Side for a multi-episode arc, to talk show host Tyra Banks and guest spots for designer Tory Burch and English fashion designer and actress Georgina Chapman of Marchesa, it was truly memorable.  Memorable also for the number of Alex Woo jewelry that was featured.

Dan de Fleurette Episode Synopsis

Gossip Girl – Never Been Marcused

Gossip Girl - Season 2 - Never Been MarcusedIn the second episode of Season 2 on Gossip Girl, Blair returns to her trusted instincts and her Alex Woo Diamond Little Letters B & W.

Every little girl’s dream is to become a princess, so it was to be expected that when Blair sees a chance to become royalty she would seize the opportunity with every chance she can.  Drama ensues as a scheming Chuck has other plans for Blair and hew new lord, Marcus (guest star Patrick Heusinger).

Other plot lines include Serena and Dan agreeing to keep their recent hook-ups a secret from their friends and family until they figure out what all this means for their relationship.

The best scenes were definitely those between Blair and her new love’s mom (guest star Madchen Amick).  What a catfight!

Lucky Likes it Leighton Meester’s Way

Lucky August 2008America’s ultimate shopping guide and the only magazine all about shopping-trends, tips on where to get the best deals on clothing, home accessories and more, Lucky this month features one of our favorite young actresses.

As Lucky says, she is TV’s best-dressed new star and portrays a supremely put-together Upper East Side private-school girl on the TV hit Gossip Girl. In real life, however, the Florida native plays it more casual. “On a typical day, you’ll find me in a tank top, jeans, and flats,” says the 22-year-old. “Even when I’m getting dressed up — which is a lot these days — I make sure what I’ve got on is pretty and comfortable. That’s key.”

Some of the key fashions she loves are romantic dresses, perfume that can be worn every day and Alex Woo’s little letter necklace. Leigton says “I wear this lowercase L by Alex Woo on a long chain so it’s sort of hidden and I never have to take it off.” So whether it is on and off the small screen (her character Blair Waldorf also wears Alex Woo’s little letters B and W) Leighton Meester is quickly moving to the next level of stardom and her style is undeniable,

Fall TV: Gossip Girl Season 1

gossip girl season 1(Fall 2007 / Spring 2008)

Based on the popular book series of the same name by Cecily von Ziegesar, this new drama from the CW gives viewers a peek into the world of privileged teenagers on an elite private school in New York City. Written by The O.C.’s Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, and directed by Mark Piznarski, the series stars Leighton Meester and Blake Lively as Blair and Serena respectively, rich Manhattan rivals at a private school in New York.

Considered one of the hottest new shows, rounding out the fine young cast is Taylor Momsen as Jenny, a freshman from Downtown Soho, who tries to fit in with the wealthy kids from New York’s Upper East side.

Gossip Girl Looks: In the episodes, watch Blair, Jenny, and Vanessa as they show off their own unique fashion sense and you will also spot Alex Woo jewelry. Blair’s look – very well thought out meticulous Americana with old Hollywood glamour has the Little Letter B and W (diamonds of course). While Jenny, free-spirited and ambitious, wears vintage clothing she creates herself with Alex Woo’s Little Question Mark or Little Princess Bow. Her background may keep her on the fringe of this exclusive clique, but her fashion taste and aspirations definitely do not! Not to be outdone, Jessica Szohr (Vanessa), can be seen wearing Woo’s Narissa Necklace. Alex Woo was also featured in Eric Daman’s Fashion Series Week 1 for Serena and Blair.
