One of the most successful anchors and news reporters of her generation, Diane Sawyer possesses a combination of poise and intelligence that audiences respond to and that has lifted her from the ranks to become a chief asset of ABC News. Currently a co-anchor on Good Morning America, she has been named one of the 30 most powerful women in America by Ladies Home Journal and ranked 62nd on Forbes’ “The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women” list in 2007.
Sawyer began her career in broadcasting in 1967 in Louisville, Ky., where she was a reporter for WLKY-TV until 1970. A native of Glasgow, Ky., and raised in Louisville, Sawyer received a B.A. from Wellesley College in 1967 and completed a semester of law school before deciding on a career in broadcasting.
On the show, Diane wears Alex Woo’s Vida Earrings.
Actress Christina Applegate gives an exclusive interview to Good Morning America, speaking out for the first time since publicly announcing her breast cancer diagnosis earlier this month. Having watched her mother, Nancy Priddy, battle breast cancer – and then suffer from a recurrence many years later – the Emmy-nominated star of Samantha Who?, 36, told interviewer Robin Roberts that she wasn’t taking any chances, especially since she has the breast cancer gene, BRCA1.
Privately, she admits, “Sometimes I cry. Sometimes I scream, and I get really angry and I get really into wallowing in self-pity sometimes, and I think it’s all part of healing.”
We support Christina and her decision and all women in the fight against breast cancer. On the show, Christina is wearing Alex Woo’s Open Heart Pendant designed and dedicated to this special cause important to the designer and the Little Letter Question Mark.
With the release of her new album “Breakout” on July 22nd, Miley Cyrus was touring New York City and was seen everywhere wearing one of Alex Woo’s Little Notes pendants. From her Good Morning America outdoor live concert to her appearance in Times Square for MTV’s TRL she wore them for fashion, luck and a personal connection next to her own name. She even wore them in the photo shoot for her “Breakout” album.
Starting at Good Morning America, she broke the record she set last year for attendance when fans young and old packed Bryant Park for the free summer concert. Thousands of screaming fans, teens, tweens and their parents all watched Miley Cyrus sing a few of her hottest hits in the morning from her new album. The 15-year-old singer and actress wrote all but two songs on the album. During the show, GMA had a short Gossip Girl fashion show, but no question about it, Miley rocked the morning with a fashionable plaid button-up shirt, denim cutoff shorts, a pair of suede heeled boots and great jewelry.
