Paris Hilton doesn’t wear her heart on her sleeve — she wears it around her neck! She recently bought Alex Woo’s “Little B” Necklace to show her love for Benji Madden. Many moons ago, the American celebutante, television personality, actress, singer, and model also picked up three Little Number One necklaces by Alex Woo.
Known for her appearance on the television series The Simple Life, several film roles, and work in both modeling and singing, Paris Hilton created a name for herself at relatively early age by attending exclusive parties and being covered by the media. Although some detractors view her publicity as shallow, one cannot deny she is ambitious and driven to achieve, rather than simply basking in her family’s vast fortune, as do so many other socialites.
Mary Haines (Meg Ryan) has a rich husband, an adorable 11-year-old daughter, a beautiful country home and a close-knit circle of friends. Her life is perfect…. or so her friends thought. The sweet, happily-wedded Mary finds her marriage in trouble when perfume sales girl Crystal Allen (Eva Mendes) gets her hooks into Mary’s man. Naturally, this situation becomes the hot talk amongst Mary’s socialite friends, especially the scandalmonger Sylvia Fowler (Annette Bening). Set in Manhattan with a band of A-list actresses also including Debra Messing, Jada Pinkett Smith and Candice Bergen, “The Women” is a modern adaptation of Clare Boothe Luce’s 1936 play. Prior to this film by Diane English, the play had been adapted into a feature film by George Cukor in 1939.
In the film, look for two of the most enduring actresses Meg Ryan and Annette Bening wearing Alex Woo jewelry. Meg Ryan wears Alex Woo’s Siri Pendant as she finds her way back and reinvents herself and Annette Bening wears the sparkly diamond Lucia pendant
In the second episode of Season 2 on Gossip Girl, Blair returns to her trusted instincts and her Alex Woo Diamond Little Letters B & W.
Every little girl’s dream is to become a princess, so it was to be expected that when Blair sees a chance to become royalty she would seize the opportunity with every chance she can. Drama ensues as a scheming Chuck has other plans for Blair and hew new lord, Marcus (guest star Patrick Heusinger).
Other plot lines include Serena and Dan agreeing to keep their recent hook-ups a secret from their friends and family until they figure out what all this means for their relationship.
The best scenes were definitely those between Blair and her new love’s mom (guest star Madchen Amick). What a catfight!
Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) is a charitable program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) established by media, entertainment and philanthropic leaders who have been affected by cancer. Raising awareness and bringing about an understanding that everyone is connected by cancer, SU2C raised a record $100 million for translational cancer research through online and televised efforts.
For the Big Three television networks — NBC, CBS and ABC — it was an event they had never done anything like before. On Friday, Sept. 5th, their news anchors — Brian Williams, Katie Couric and Charles Gibson, respectively — sat on one set for a commercial-free, prime-time simulcast entitled “Stand Up to Cancer.” The extraordinary broadcast was for a cause that the networks believe worthy of such an unprecedented collaboration — the fight against cancer. It was also Couric’s first live appearance on TODAY, the show she co-anchored for 15 years, since taking over as the CBS Evening News anchor two years earlier.
At the event, Christina Applegate wore Alex Woo’s Open Heart Necklace and Little Letter Question Mark. She has founded Right Action for Women, a foundation to aid those individuals who are at increased risk for breast cancer and do not have insurance or the financial flexibility to cover the high costs associated with breast screenings.
Actress Christina Applegate is seen sporting two necklaces from jewelry designer Alex Woo. She is seen wearing the silver Open Heart Necklace –which is a charitable piece where net proceeds are donated to the Women’s Cancer Research Fund. Christina is also sporting Alex Woo’s silver question mark from the Little Letters collection.
Alex recently designed the Tree of Life pendant to benefit Christina’s breast cancer foundation, Right Action for Women. The net proceeds from the Tree of Life pendant are donated to the foundation.
Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama joins wife Michelle and daughters Sasha and Malia on the September 2008 cover of Essence Magazine. The Sophisticate office attire borrows from 1950’s glamour – womanly silhouettes, bold prints, and ladylike accessories – for a look that works overtime. In the feature, the model wears Alex Woo’s Siri Leaf Earring with carnelian, along with the Sweni necklace in 14kt Gold. These accessories definitely add something special to these silhouettes. What color goes with everything and never goes out of style? Think gray, this season’s easiest neutral.
In the world of color personality, red is thought of as dynamic, yellow as perpetually cheery, orange as stimulating. But gray? Gray is “dull” and “wishy-washy.” And that’s a bum rap. In truth, gray is a wonder color, so unexpected that even a bit of it breathes life into an ensemble. It’s incredibly versatile, making other neutrals look modern and rich, and softening summer brights so they’re wearable when the season calls for something more toned down. Plus, a broad range of shades makes it easy to find one that flatters you. Now, can you say any of that about orange?
In the photo, a wool-blend pullover in dark gray is double knit, so it offers durability along with a shapely drape. Wear it with sleek black trousers for extra polish and Alex Woo’s Sienna Hoop Earrings.
