“In celebration of Disneynature’s film African Cats and the 50th Anniversary of the African Wildlife Foundation, I designed a special pendant which captures the true beauty and essence of African wildlife.”

The captivating story of the inseparable connection between a mother and their young is depicted in a detailed and majestic scene set in the African horizon. Like the regal cats that fill the savannas, all mothers know what it’s like to go through life sacrificing themselves in order to ensure the protection of their children. In the design, the mother cat gazes into the horizon for looming harm and the baby cub looks up to her mother to shield and protect her from the dangers of the wild. One final design element that is included is the elegant Acacia tree from the African landscape that is also represented in the imagery of the movie’s logo.

“All mothers share a common bond of wanting to protect and nurture their child as best they can. So that was the story I wanted to tell through my design.”

20% of the proceeds will benefit the African Wildlife Foundation whose efforts are in continual conservation of the African wildlife and wetlands. The African Cats pendant is hand sculpted with solid 14kt Yellow Gold. Available in two sizes: the Small African Cats, which measures approximately 1 inch in diameter and Large African Cats, which measures approximately 1.5 inches in diameter.

The pendant hangs on a 18" chain. When worn, the pendant will hang approximately 17" because the chain loops through the piece.
